A lightweight game that recreates Rodent's Revenge and makes it a bit more accessible

Open Rodent's Revenge is a recreation of the Rodent's Revenge puzzle game that comes with better looking graphics, 64 Bit OS compatibility and the freedom to create your own levels.

Simple and transparent gameplay

In Open Rodent's Revenge your goal is to trap the cats that roam the level. Once a feline is trapped and has no place to go, it panics and turns into a piece of cheese that you can eat for bonus points.

To trap a cat, you have to push one or more blocks at the right time and in the right direction to surround the cat with them. Blocks can only be pushed so you need to be a bit careful when and how you plan things so as to make sure you don’t trap yourself. However, if you do manage the latter, there’s a ‘kill mouse’ button that places you in a random location.

Cats tend to follow you so be careful because you get three lives and if you lose them, well, it’s pretty obvious what happens.

Create your own custom levels to annoy your friends

This remake of the 1991 game comes with a level editor that allows you to muster up your own little puzzles. You can shape the maze anyway you want, make it as big as you see fit and let loose a as many cats as possible. Creating a level is easy and all the data can be stored in a lightweight text file which can be altered anytime you want to.

Open Rodent's Revenge is also very easy to modify and it even comes with a collection of files which you can use to give it a Pac-Man theme.

A simple, nice and accessible puzzle game

Open Rodent's Revenge is an indie creation that wants to stay true to its ancestor. For this reason, the graphics are simple, there are no effects and everything is kept at a minimum. It’s not a thrilling game but it is a decent way to spend a couple of minutes.
